Legend Says That When A Bee Flies, A Soul Will Rise.

It Was Believed That A Person Would Be Released Into The Next Life If A Bee Was Present When The Person Died.
The A Typical Setting , A Field With Holes Instead Of A Typical Cemetery, Signifies That Spirits Come To Melinda In Unusual Ways. 

Melinda Is A Human Being Torn Between Two Worlds- That Of The Living And That Of The Dead. With Each Ghostly Encounter, Melinda Experiences Growth. A Bee Lands On A Lily. This Is The Introduction Of The Bee's Journey Into The GHOST WHISPERER World.

Melinda Is A Happily Married Antique Dealer. Some Of The Antiques Coming Into Her Store Have Ghosts Attached To Them. The Clothes Here Cast No Shadows, Because Ghosts Do Not Have Shadows, But The Living Do. As Evidenced By The Shadows Thrown By The Credits. The Falling Feather Indicates Unfinished Business For This Ghost.

The House In The Field Symbolizes Melinda And Her Husband’s Personal Space. The Light In The Window Is A Beacon Drawing Spirits To Melinda. In The Foreground, A Ghost Holds An Egg, Symbolizing The Beginning Unfinished Business.

The Woman On The Chair Is Holding An Egg, Which Symbolizes The Beginning Of A Piece Of Business. As The Woman Becomes A Ghost, The Egg Cracks Open To Reveal A Bird, Which Signifies A Completed Piece Of Business.

Then The Woman Disappears, Leaving The Bird To Journey Through Its Own Cycle Before It Crosses Over Into The Light. This Sequence Represents What Melinda Does: She Helps Spirits Complete Unfinished Business Before Helping Them Cross Into The Light. In Addition, She Gives Closure To Those Left Behind.

Through Falling Rain And Storm Clouds, A Ghost Boy And Melinda Are Revealed. A Cloud Obscures His Face, Because He Is Confused. The Cloud Dissipates And The Ghost Moves Forward. Melinda Is Giving The Ghost Clarity So That He Can Move Forward And Cross Into The Light.

The Man In The Foreground Is A Ghost Holding A Photo Of His Mother Who Has Already Passed. The People In The Background Represent The Living, Moving Very Quickly, As Does The World Today. The Ghost Moves Forward Slowly, Because He Is Lost. His Mother Picture Flaps Back And Forth. His Mother Is Haunting, Yet Poignant. The Male Ghost Lets Go Of The Picture He Is Holding As He Moves Toward The Light. The Picture Flutters Downward.

We Travel Up From Darkness Into Light And Prepare For A Journey.

The Suitcase Represents Traveling Into A More Positive Place Through The Journey Melinda Takes Each Week. The Suitcase Cracks Open And A Bee Flies Out.

The Bee Flies To A Woman Clothed In Bees. She Has No Fear And Symbolizes Melinda’s Gift Embodying Hope, Love, Compassion And Closure. The Bee Joins Other Bees On The Living Dress As A Different Leaves The Woman And Flies Away.

The Bee Enters Frame And Lands On The GHOST WHISPERER Title.

There Are Two Places In Afterlife: The Light And The Dark Side. These Two Places Are One Of The Main Points Of The Show.

When Melinda Helps Ghosts Cross Over, They See A Bright Light. The Light Is Identified With Heaven. The Light Is Invisible To Viewers And Shown Only A Few Times Such As In Episodes The Vanishing, The One, Giving Up The Ghost (Briefly) And The Gathering. Almost All The Spirits In The Show Cross Over Into The Light.

Not All Spirits Cross Over Into The Light. Some Cross Over To The Dark Side. The Dark Side Is Identified With Hell. Spirits Who Are Trapped In This Limbo Are Exposed To Hate And Anger Such As Professor Payne's Dead Wife.
